You have a Dual Boot system, now you want Windows to be the bootloader..
Here is good article on how to Restore Windows as the bootloader from within Windows it’s self and give choices of different OS to load. (other windows, Linux, other OSes)
Here is a official Ubuntu sites on How to Create a UEFI USB bootable drive to install your Linux. This not for the Faint of Hart. Read all articles before you try anything.
My problem is a bit different. I am trying to create a persistent system that is UEFI compliant on a USB flash drive. I use my own procedure for which I wrote this tutorial – but that is MFT. This is the link to the tutorial for your info:
If you have an idea on how to do that, maybe we can discuss it on one of our Wednesdays.
Cheers, Wolfgang

Here are a couple of things you need to do before trying to install a Linux Distro on a UFEI Box.
1: Backup your computer first thing. Use a program like True Image 2013 or higher which is UEFI compliant. Also your can try Redo backup. Here is a link to it: http://sourceforge.net/projects/redobackup/ You can also use the built in Windows backup program and here is a link for that process: http://www.backuphowto.info/creating-windows-8-system-image-backup-purposes
2: Get into your BIOS, then disable QuickBoot or FastBoot and Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT).
3: In Windows8, you need to disable FastStartup.
Now if your going to install Ubuntu the download the 64 Bit version. (32 Bit we be a lot hard to get to boot)
Same thing with Mint 17, download the 64 Bit version you want to install.
Here is a great link on how to finish the job: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI

How to Manually Repair Boot Loader Problems in Vista, Win 7, Win 8
Get out your Windows Repair Disc (32 or 64 Bit) and boot from that.
You can also use your Install Disc, at the first window click on Repair Computer.
Next window just click on Next.
Now on the next window you should be in the System Recovery Tools.
On the very bottom click on Command Prompt.
Repairing the Master Boot Record
If you want to restore the master boot record, you can simply type in the following command:
bootrec /fixmbr
You can also write a new boot sector onto the system partition with this command (which is often more useful):
bootrec /fixboot
That’s It.
Now exit out and reboot the system and if all went well it should reboot into your windows OS.
