Networking Nuts and Bolts
You have heard from the experts how networking can be nearly priceless if you make the right connections. Nevertheless you find yourself at social events, business meeting, conferences, workshops, and classes and on a good day you make two or three new contacts from the numerous people you meet in a day. Meeting people can be difficult but does not have to be.
A great networker really does not think about networking per say but how he or she can help someone with a solution. They attend these events with both ears open and a goal to meet a large percentage if not everyone who is attending the event. Be a host or volunteer to help out with the event. It will help you meet a multitude of people quickly and break the ice too.
First things first, you must prepare. Know your business and yourself. Know the short answer to the following questions:
What is your specific product or service?
Do you have a special target?
Do you have special qualifications?
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Be specific, ie sports you play like golf or tennis. No one works 24/7 even if they are single with no family or significant other, you must come up for air.
A critical part of your first impression is your business card. It's your first level marketing and public relations collateral, so think about the message you want to deliver. Depending on your business get creative. Own a metal shop maybe you have an engrave aluminum or silver background with your logo. Personal Chef may have a scratch and sniff of aroma. A high tech consultant may have a refractive card that shows different info at various viewing angles. The bare minimum on the business card include your name, phone number, email and business name / what you do. Options that wile help even more like a photo, website, address, logo, description of services and company slogan.
Now you should have your 30 second elevator pitch prepare to roll off the tongue in a natural way. This should include your position, company name, brief summary of your business operation and the clients you have. You should mention what you specifically need, ie a lawyer who specializes in real estate or a particular manufacturing supplier.
Now you know the nuts and bolts of the networking world get out there and start shaking some hands. Get those business cards and follow up with a note or card. Do not be shy go to something at least once a week. It all gets better with a little practice so put your ears on and have fun.

7 Secrets To Shoot Video Like A Pro
Alot of us get inspired by movies to want to shoot great video with our video cameras – unfortunately there is a difference between want and being able to. Like photography, good videography requires a level of competence and artistic know-how. After all, there's more to shooting great footage than pressing the record button. This brings us to the 7 secrets to shoot video like a pro.
For good or bad, I learned the hard way how to shoot professionally. I'm not promising you'll get an oscar for your efforts but you'll avoid giving viewers that amateur-I-can't-hold-a-camera-steady look.
1. Be A Good Student
Just like any craft you need to know your tools. For example, if your filming your son's baseball game you need to increase the shutter speed to ensure your image is free of motion blur. If your shooting from a distance and you've zoomed to bring the subject closer you'll need to pay attention to the camera's focus and switch it to manual to avoid focus drift. It really comes down to reading the manual and learning the tools. At first it may seem daunting but if you tackle one concept at a time and apply yourself by shooting it will make sense and it will become second nature. To simplify things, I recommend keeping a cheat sheet handy if necessary.
2. Stay Prepared
Think of videography like camping, you always need a survival kit.
– Bring plenty of spare batteries – you never know when you'll need them.
– Extra blank tapes. The more quality footage you have the easier the editing process.
– A lens-cleaning cloth. You do not want to be stuck in a situation where you have a smudge and you have nothing safe to clean your glass with. This a situation where post-production will not help.
– Bring a tripod. Steady shots go along way in preventing motion sickness. You'll be surpised how much better your shots will look.
– A battery charger / power supply. Having the ability charge your batteries ensures minimal downtime and more content.
– Extension cords for long cable runs. You want to be prepared for the worst scenario. Often on jobs, I'll bust out the cables if a local receptacle is not available.
– Duct tape, for taping down the extension cord so people do not trip over it. You do not want a lawsuit on your hands.
– Lighting gear, lens filters, and microphones, and any other accessories you may need. These are your tools to quality videography. Unless your feeling lazy, do not leave home without them.
3. Say YES to a tripod
The majority of home videos end up looking shaky, which is a drag to watch. Even with a small investment of $ 30 on a tripod, your footage look will look professional and steady. Also, you'll have the ability to execute pans and zooms without trouble.
No tripod? Lean against a wall to minimize shakiness. OK, no wall you say? Putt your butt on the ground, bend your knees, and drop your elbows on them.
If your shooting an event where space is limited or you're on the constant go I recommend a monopod. These are a real lifesaver. Not only can you get rock steady shots, you occupy less space and can relocate in a matter of seconds.
4. Give me light
It does not matter how good your camera is. If you have crappy lighting, it will reflect (no pun intended) in your video. A quick solution to overcome lighting issues is to shoot outdoors preferably in the morning or late afternoon hours. Post why? At these times of the day the light is less harsh and produces a more pleasant softer look on the video – no shadows over the eyes, squinting, or washed out skin tones.
If you must shoot indoors take notice of which way the light is directed in the room. Avoid shooting your foreground subjects close to bright windows behind them. You do not want your camera to expose for the background leaving your foreground subject dark. Certainly let as much light into the room as possible and try to have the light coming from behind you towards your subject. If the light levels are low, its good practice to disable autofocus or you will encounter problems as the camera attempts to focus properly.
5. Hi-Fi Audio
Many people do not notice good sound but they sure notice bad sound. Getting good sound does take some work but its do-able. The microphones built into most cameras are pretty basic and are not considered high-end. When your dealing with an uncontrollable environment it's always best to get as close as possible to the source as possible to ensure the cleanest recording. You must monitor your audio with headphones to ensure the best results.
6. Composition
Proper composition is everything when setting up a good shot. Professional videographers obey the "rule of thirds" and you should do the same. Imagine a tic-tac-toed board over your viewfinder. The lines interact in four spots. Your goal should be to frame the action using one or more of those spots.
Of course, art is subjective and you can break this rule if your feeling creative. But exercise restraint: you do not want to alienate your audience.
7. Shoot B-Roll
B-Roll is secondary footage that is used for cutaway shots to connect your primary shot. The cutaway of b-roll footage can also be used to hide unflattering shots or mistakes you may have made while shooting. If your filming a wedding, you might take shots of the church, the invitation, and the little bride and groom atop the cake. When its time to cut your movie, you mix in the footage to cover up mistakes and add variety.
There are no hard rules. Anything can become B-Roll. If you study television shows or news stories you'll see a constant use of B-Roll. It's basically the glue to connect and link scenes together. As you gain experience you will be able to visualize your edit and what shots you need before you even shoot. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect!

How To Repair LG 710E CRT Monitor With Power Blink Problem
LG 710E 17 "CRT Monitor came in with the complaint of power blink. A power blink problem can be cause by either in primary or secondary section or even in both sections.
A defective power IC, power fet breakdown when under load, high esr in electrolytic capacitor, increased in current sense resistor value, a shorted zener diode, a leaky transistor, open circuit or resistor has changed value in primary side can cause power to blink. As for the secondary side, a shorted secondary diode, flyback, HOT, horizontal yoke coil, damper diode, B + fet, an open filter capacitor, shorted IC and etc can cause power to blink as well.
Normally what I do is to remove the B + fet first and connect a light bulb to distinguish whether is the primary or after the B + circuit components that caused power to blink. However in this case, I did not put the light bulb and I directly removed the B + fet and power on the monitor. For your information, this B + fet is the N-channel mosfet and this B + fet is part of the boost circuit.
After removing the B + fet, not only the power did not blink, there was display as well and the anode voltage reads about 12 Kilo volt (a good monitor should have about 24 KV). The reason why you got 12 kilo volts is because the boost circuit is not functioning due to the removal of the B + fet. The display shown a small width and the horizontal size control is already set to the maximum (you can not get maximum width because the anode voltage is only 12 KV). You can control or set everything in the On Screen Display (OSD) except you can not bring horizontal size to maximum.
With having a display, it is a good clue to me because I knew that many circuits is working such as power section (so you do not suspect primary side anymore), flyback transformer, yoke coils, micro-p, eeprom, horizontal and vertical circuit, color circuit and even the Osd circuit. Without the B + fet, there is display but with B + fet the power blink. In this case, one would always check the B + fet first am I right? However the B + fet turned out to be good!
Now where is the culprit hiding? Troubleshooting sometimes can be very frustrated and most of the time is always fun. One of my methods that I liked to use is to touch for any unusually hot components on board with my finger. (Please take note for all electronic repairers-switch off and unplug the power cable and discharge the big filter capacitor in primary side before you begin to touch any components).
Usually after power off, I would touch on the flyback first then to other components surrounding the high voltage section. While browsing the components with my finger I stumbled upon a resin coated ceramic disc capacitor which is quite hot. It is located near the flyback transformer and in fact the capacitor was there is to act as a filter capacitor for the 400 vdc line output as shown from the photo.
After the cap was removed and checked with an analog meter, it showed a shorted reading even in the X1 ohms range. A good capacitor should show a charge and discharge activity in the X10 k ohms range. A new capacitor replacement for this LG 710E 17 "CRT Monitor cured the fault.
The reason why the monitor power blinks is because the faulty capacitor become shorted when in full operating voltage (boost circuit is functioning and approximately 60 -70 vdc enter the B + flyback pin).
When the B + fet was removed (boost circuit not working and only about 40 vdc enter the B + pin of flyback) the monitor is not working under full operating voltage and the faulty capacitor can still tolerate (partial short) and became hot. I believe if the monitor is switched "on" for a little longer, it would cause the capacitor to develop a direct short circuit and if this happen, removing the B + fet to test the monitor would not make any different (the power would still blink ).

Understanding Internet Marketing Terms The Foundation For Online Success
So you have thought about getting into online or internet marketing? How about things like email marketing? Well then you need to know what things are. You need to know what a website is, what a squeeze page or an opt-in page is. You even need to know what the difference is between a newsletter and an auto-responder. Now how about all the other terms that you hear, such as domain names, html codes, servers, content management systems and hosting. All these terms you need to at least have a basic understanding of.
You may be questioning why you need to know all of these internet marketing terms, but the reason is very simple why you need to at least know what they mean. It will give you a better understanding of how to spend your time, what you really need to learn about and what you should just let someone else handle. You can for example get someone to take care of building the basics of your site and get a Content management system build into your site, for the same cost as just you would pay for hosting. That means that you can get rid of having to know anything about website design software, hosting, setting up emails and all that stuff. So basically you would be cutting the tech stuff you need to understand and be able to work with about 60%. Imagine the time that would save you?
What are the basic terms you need to know? Well you should know what an html code is, you do not have to know how to write them, just know what they are. (In most cases you can just copy and paste them.) You should know what affiliates and affiliate marketing is. Know what SEO, PPC and what the difference between a newsletter and an auto-responder is. It would also help if you knew the difference between types of websites, such as the difference between a directory, search engine, e-commerce, and squeeze page along with an informational site. They all serve a different purpose and need a slightly different approach when it comes to internet marketing.
Internet marketing becomes a lot simpler once you understand the terminology being used online and in the internet marketing world. People often get spooked by how many terms internet marketers use when they are talking about how to do effective internet marketing. The truth is that half of the terminology is not a need to know thing, it is a helpful to know thing. Other internet marketers have a tendency of making it sound like internet marketing is a complex thing because of the terminology, but it really is not. Once you get more familiar with it, you will understand that some of the most common terms used are actually quite simple. Most of them serve no purpose and you do not need to know them, but of course how would many of the affiliate marketers survive if they told you that you did not need to know how to write html codes, understand what SEO, PPC and Ad-words is?
The simple truth about internet marketing is that the terminology is used to sell you many things you do not need. What most of these fail to give you information about is how to use the tools behind the terms. You can actually get You a <br> free guide to all the terms of used in internet marketing on Www.10make90.com/startupkit.php , so you can the begin to get an understanding of what these terms : mean really. This way you will not have to spend money on learning the basics and can focus on learning what really matters, how you can get started with internet marketing.
